The Real Fili-Second by liamwhite1 The Real Fili-Second by liamwhite1

Update: fixed a ratio error, widened all strokes
Please do point out the small things, I'd like to get them fixed.

Hey, I properly layered a vector for once! (I should have been doing this from the start :iconfacehoofplz: )

If you use portions or all of this vector in other vector artworks, you MUST provide the link to your source vector for any of your artwork that includes my work. (what?)

It is vector, but in what way is it horrible? I'm not offended, just curious as to your reasoning.

there's no line variation,
in show all lines are hand drawn and so then have little drop offs on sizes and other such things all around. id also have to say its a illustration from the shape and size of the body in relation to the head.

sorry to be snobby, i know i come off like that when i talk about this.
vectoring is when you take something from the show or somewhere and you recreate it to the best of your ability, vector is also something else entirely that doesn't really have to do with art, that's why "vectoring" is its own thing in ours and many other communities,

an illustration however is when you use "vector lines" to make a picture whether it be its own thing or an attempt at "vectoring" something.

hence why i said, if its a horrible vector however it is a good illustration XD.

boops ur nose.

What? The animators use Macromedia Flash 8 (vector software) to create the show. And in the process they use stroke to path (manually tapering nodes) to make editing easier and faster. (than importing to Illustrator, tapering lines, exporting to Flash CS6 and then back to Macromedia Flash then copying symbols between libraries) They also use it to quickly smooth out animation artifacts. The downside to that is the lines then vary in width in some places.

The ideas in MLP-VectorClub are that we are supposed to imitate what the animators would have meant had they been able to spend more than a minute on each frame of a sprite, and bring out the true style of the show, not to be accurate to what is seen in the show.

As for the creation of this vector file it wasn't nearly as much tracing as I was used to, but I am fairly familiar with pony anatomy so I think it turned out all right.

emote destruction

just blew my mind XD.

still wrong. the puppets and other such things in the show are drawn by hand and then used. if you actually look closly at the show you will see that it is in fact all hand drawn and was then puppet worked.  the line variation is there. and there are lots of little errors you can find. its a fun game to play. find the line error. XD. or call it find the line wabble. or find the line pops.

whichever you like. i don't really care about what your saying in the rest. i just gave my opinion on it. ya didnt need to bring up the mlp vectorclub. i dont even know why you would.  thats just their ideals.

i dont even know at this point XD. anyways, its a good illustration.

I'm just here to tell you that everything you said in that post was wrong. MLP is not hand-drawn, you didn't just 'give your opinion', you said that there was no line-variation, which doesn't even MEAN anything.

I suggest you stop commenting until you either:
A - Learn about animation principles
B - Learn what Adobe Flash is
D - Learn what a vector is
C - Learn to be polite to others

If you'd be able to learn any of those things, then that'd be great.

Oh, and cute vector Liamwhite. The ponified version of Facebook called Ponihoof just promoted your art on their page! Expect some more people coming your way! :D

Whoa, sick burn dude!
Tell me, how was I not?
I didn't swear, I didn't insult you or implied anything else about you. All I did was point out your mistake and gave you a list of things you COULD do to better yourself so people might listen to you more seriously next time. I didn't scrutinise, judge or harass you. The only rude thing I did was bother Liamwhite with a  message not directed at him on his artwork, which I apologize for.

In your first post you even said you 'didn't mean to be rude', but you were trying to correct someone with seemingly zero knowledge about the subject, on their own artwork. That's what we people call 'rude', and I called you out on that. Don't be a baby about it.

Are we done or do you have more quips that are below both our standards? :/
